An Overview of Student Awards Programs:
Professional growth and service are the motivators for student member participation in chapter activities. Award programs, however, provide incentive through individual and chapter recognition.
Formal Student Awards Programs Offered/Administered by Headquarters
- Student Individual Performance Award (SIPA)
Student members are encouraged to work toward this award by completing certain chapter activities. The award is non-competitive in that every member of the chapter can achieve the award through participation.
- Student Chapter Outstanding Performance Award (SCOPA)
Student chapters are encouraged to work toward this award presented annually for outstanding chapter performance. This award indicates the chapter is providing a variety of opportunities to and for its members and its members are participating in a variety of activities.
- Outstanding Student Chapter of the Year Award
This award is presented annually at the National Collegiate Conference to the winning student chapter chosen from the student chapters who achieved SCOPA.
- Outstanding Student Chapter Faculty Advisor of the Year Award
This award is presented annually at the National Collegiate Conference to the winning student chapter faculty advisor chosen from faculty advisors of student chapters who achieved SCOPA for the previous two years.
- AITP Faculty
"Going the Extra Mile” Award
Purpose: Recognition for
faculty members that truly go "the extra mile” for their AITP student
chapter. Candidates do not have to be the official faculty advisor for the
AITP student chapter. The winner will be announced during the closing
awards banquet at the AITP National Collegiate Conference. Nomination form is due by March 1st.
