Looking for a simpler way to work through large volumes of unstructured data with something simpler than Java?  Maybe a scripting language low on syntactic overhead?  In this talk, demonstrations of the Pig language that works on top of Hadoop will be provided along with how to setup a cluster using Amazon Web Services.   Also, considerations in data cleaning of text will be looked at.


Second Topic: Data Protection Suite, Aaron Shaver, Cloud Solution Architect, US Signal

Aaron will be presenting an overview of emerging enterprise data backup/archival, disaster recovery and business continuance strategies.  He will go into specifics of how US Signal's products and services enable these strategies followed by a use case review and demonstration.
