Guest Speaker: Paul McManigal, Charleston County Sheriff's Office
Topic: Forensic Technology Senior
Sergeant McMangal began his law enforcement career in 1988 when he
became a police officer in Charleston County. In 1997, transferred to
Forensic Services where he was trained in crime scene investigations,
latent fingerprint recovery and identification, shooting
reconstructions, bloodstain pattern interpretation, and accident
reconstruction. In 2005, he was promoted to sergeant and became the
supervisor of Forensic Services. In 2011, his unit joined the
Electronic Crimes Task Force founded by the United States Secret
Service. He has since trained at the Nation Computer Forensic Institute
in Hoover, Alabama and operates a computer forensic laboratory in
addition to his duties as the supervisor of Forensic Services at the
Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
