July Chapter Meeting - The Inevitable

Our next chapter meeting will be Tuesday, July 19 from 11:30-1:00 at the Louisiana Technology Park, 7117 Florida Blvd.

This month we will be discussing Kevin Kelly's widely acclaimed new book:  The Inevitable: Understanding the 12 Technological Forces That Will Shape Our Future.

Kelly is the founding executive editor of Wired magazine where he currently holds the title of Senior Maverick. According to, "There may be no one better to contemplate the meaning of cultural change than Kevin Kelly, whose life story reads like a treatise on the value and impacts of technology."

The 12 forces (and book chapters) are Becoming, Cognifying, Flowing, Screening, Accessing, Sharing, Filtering, Remixing, Interacting, Tracking, Questioning and Beginning.   We won't have time to look at each of these in depth, so we'll do a quick overview and take a closer look at cognifying.   Cognifying is Kelly's term for Artificial Intelligence which we discussed at our May meeting.

Our meetings are open to the public. Please pass this invitation on to any colleagues who may be interested in attending.

We will have registration and networking from 11:30 to 11:45 followed by chapter business and our discussion. Meeting cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Lunch, water and soft drinks will be provided. Seating is limited, so please RSVP to by Monday, July 18, if you plan to attend.

Hope to see you there!
