I have been working in Information technology since 1997. In that time I have been a developer, a technician, a manager, an owner, and always an enthusiast. Since joining AITP I have been active in my Chapter, the Region, and the Association level attending numerous activities ranging from the 2009-2011 National Conferences to visiting numerous Student Chapter meetings.
AITP has been a powerful resource for IT business professionals for over 60 years providing technology and leadership education, research, information, and forums for professional networking. We are, as an organization, uniquely positioned to direct the future of our industry and to be both a leader and a supporter of IT professionals. It is an exciting time to be a member of AITP, but this opportunity also demands a huge effort of time, effort, and vision to be of practical value to the IT community. We can no longer settle for being a generic Information Technology users group. AITP’s future depends on our ability to develop in our members those skills which are most in demand and least available in the IT community. We need to lead the IT industry away from being technicians and towards being professionals. |
