Welcome to the St. Louis Chapter!
Our next meeting will be on September 25, 2014
The Association of IT Professionals (AITP), just like most businesses and organizations, consistently evolves with the technology and business climate. This meeting is not about the history of IT, AITP or the St. Louis Chapter, but instead it is about the future of AITPSTL and our ambitions to support the growth and prosperity of a healthy IT ecosystem in the St. Louis Metro Area. Please join us to learn more about resources and opportunities associated with AITP here in St. Louis.
AITP is a national network of business professionals in the IT industry. Some professional technology organizations are only for IT practitioners, others cater to project managers or executives, while other groups focus on technology sales or specific industries such as healthcare technology. All of these are very important and serve an important role within the IT community. However, amongst these organization, AITP is truly unique because we are about the business of IT and how an entire economic ecosystem develops around an effective IT business network.
The AITP slogan is "No matter how sophisticated the technology, it still takes people" which is so true. And it doesn't only take developers, business analysts, and network architects, it takes teachers, accountants, marketing, entrepreneurship, business management, and so much more. The St. Louis Chapter of AITP is one of the longest standing chapters, predating AITP by over 45 years when we started as the National Machine Accountants Association (NMAA). The St. Louis Chapter has been in transition for the past decade and at this meeting on September 25 we will unveil our strategic plan to support IT industry partnerships, education, and recruiting initiatives for the startup and enterprise businesses which are the heart of the St. Louis Economy. Without IT our manufacturing, healthcare, biotech, energy, retail, and every other industry would struggle to thrive in this fast-paced global economy. By uniting IT community resources, providing business-minded IT education, promoting IT industry-advancing events, and recruiting IT professionals nationwide to join the exciting IT ecosystem in St. Louis we will be accomplishing the objectives of our organization and supporting the health of our regional IT Ecosystem.
Please join us to learn more about the following initiatives:
- Collegiate Chapters and National AITP Collegiate Conferences
- Professional Membership, Development and Networking Opportunities
- Revamped responsive website aitpstl.org which was a LaunchCode final project
- The AITPSTL social community using Pushup Social (another local startup collaboration)
- Growing Social Media Opportunities on a variety of media
- Events and Partnerships such as SecureWorld, Yellow-Tie, Holiday IT Innovation Party, STL IT Summit, Startup Jackpot, and a collaborative IT golf tournament
As our organization continues to grow and be much more involved in uniting all the players within the IT industry, we are also looking to add new committees and bring new leaders into our Board of Directors at our annual elections this November. If you are an IT enthusiast from any walk of life, any industry, any profession, please join us on September 25 to learn more about AITP in your community, meet the current Board of Directors, identify ways you can get involved in STL IT initiatives, and provide input about how an organization like AITP can bring value to the STL IT community.
