Topic: Information Technology Governance - Key Success Factors.

In light of current economic conditions, tightening IT budgets, and the overall changing landscape of IT service provisioning, governing an organization’s information technology activities is essential to the strategic alignment of an IT organization to the overall strategic direction of the organization.

This session will discuss the importance of governing IT activities and highlight some key success factors to successfully establish and manage an information technology governance structure for any organization. Tactics that may be employed to support an IT governance structure in your organization will also be discussed.


Speaker

Tim Brooks, Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Saint Louis University.
Tim has been serving in a senior IT administration capacity for 13 years with over 25 years of experience in various information technology roles including networking, telecommunications, data center administration, application and web services, project management, security and quality assurance. His experience includes support of higher education, healthcare and research for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Tim holds graduate degrees in telecommunications, information management and business from Washington University..
