Spring 2011 Region 5 Conference Pictures
The Capitol Chapter (Springfield, IL) hosted a very successful Region conference May 12-13, 2011. The educational sessions were outstanding and there were plenty of networking opportunities. "We had people drive over 6 hours to get here. The response from most attendees has been very positive so thank you for your support of our efforts to provide quality IT education and networking opportunities", said Conference Chair Dusten Nance."
Dusten told attendees via email, "I took some pictures and placed them in a public space on Facebook. Only about half the sessions are shown in these pictures. I did not get any pictures of the beautiful hospitality suite. A couple exhibitor booths were removed before I got pictures. If you have any pictures of your own send them to me and I will share with the group. I need help tagging some of the pictures with names".Click here to access the conference pictures on Facebook.
Twin City Named 2010 Association Outstanding Chapter
Congratulations to the Twin City Chapter in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. It was honored with the 2010 Association Outstanding Chapter Award (AOCA) at the Member Summit in Orlando, Florida.
Each year, chapters apply for the Chapter Outstanding Performance Award (COPA). Each Region then selects their Region Outstanding Chapter Award (ROCA) winner. The ROCA winners then compete for the Association's Outstanding Chapter Award. This year, after reviewing all the documentation submitted for all the ROCA winners, an independent body selected Twin City as the 2010 Association Outstanding Chapter.
In his letter of recommendation to the Association Awards Committee, Region President Larry Schmitz noted: "Twin Cities, again in 2010, continued to function at an extremely high level of internal AITP activity as well as numerous "Give Back/Pay Forward" activities involving the business community, community in general and the educational institutions in their area (as well as being well represented, not only in attendance, but in working at Region and Association events). They are truly deserving of this recognition."
The Region ROCA Selection Committee noted: "The Twin City Chapter stood out in all of the categories. It was noticeable that they had maintained a good record of the activities of many of their members. The number of members involved and the number of different activities combined, resulted in a very good to excellent report."
Congratulations to 2010 Twin City President Beverly Stevens, Past President Sue Braun (who spent many hours documenting Twin City's accomplishments), and the entire Twin City Chapter!
