  1. Bids to Host the Region 5 Fall 2015 Region Meetings (Larry Schmitz)
    • Open discussion of what is involved in hosting Region meetings and how it might be feasible for smaller chapters
    • If chapters are not ready to bid at the time of the Fall meeting, the Region officers will accept and review proposals submitted subsequent to the meeting and make a recommendation to the full Region Board to be voted on electronically


  1. Region Directory Status Report (Dick Boenisch)


  1. Appointment of Committees for 2015 (Larry Schmitz)
    • This will be deferred to the incoming 2015 President.
    • Appointments will be made in conjunction with the Region Officers Planning Meeting in December
    • Committees include:
      • Outstanding Professional Chapter Selection
      • Outstanding Student Chapter Selection
      • National Collegiate Conference (NCC) Grant Selection
      • District Candidate Recruitment Committee
    • People interested in serving on these committees should contact the incoming Region President
    • Members of the committees need not be Region Board members but must be members of good standing from Region 5
      and should be independent of nominees for the various awards / positions

    • Please come to the meeting prepared to discuss your chapter's plan for your struggling/dead student chapters--rejuvenate (plan that is plausible), revoke charter, etc. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring professional chapter to deal with this issue.  But if they take no action, the Region Board will act on their behalf.
    • Vote on disbanding inactive chapters (professional and student)

  3. "Think Outside the Box" (Larry Schmitz / Larry Winkelman)
    • Work with your chapter Board, complete this form, and send it to Dick Boenisch by 12/1/2014 (PDF - Microsoft Word)

  4. Other New Business (Larry Schmitz)
    • Association Membership Campaign Update (Mike Welch)
    • NCC close by for next 3 years (Nita Adams)
    • Explore having Region Meetings as virtual meetings (e.g. GoToMeeting) or combination of face-to-face and virtual (ability to dial into face-to-face meetings).
