The hotel has suddenly launched an immediate guest room remodeling initiative involving their South Tower (which has the pool and almost ALL the double-bedded rooms) and are taking some of the floors/rooms in their North Tower immediately out of service to launch a massive remodeling initiative that was supposed to have originally started/been completed BEFORE we arrived but that simply did not happen for many reasons.  The GOOD news is that pretty much ALL the student rooms will be at the nearby Hyatt at the Arch *or* the Hilton at the Ballpark (both are only 2 blocks  away) and are MUCH NICER hotels and accomodations!  Complimentary shuttle-bus transportation will be provided but hopefully the weather is nice and it is a pleasant sort walk back to where ALL the conference sessions, meals and contest events will be held at the Millennium Hotel still. Here is the offiical statement from the hotel:

"The Millenium Hotel St. Louis will be undergoing an immediate comprehensive room renovation of the hotel.  This will cause a substantial reduction in the hotel’s guest room inventory during the AITP conference over the dates of April 3-6, 2013.  Many of the attendees with room reservations during this conference will need to be relocated.  The hotel has secured alternate accommodations at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch or the Hilton at the Ballpark to accommodate the relocated rooms.  You will be contacted by the hotel directly should your existing reservations be affected by this situation.  We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconveniences.”

ALso make note of the fact that a city-wide run/race event is ALSO taking place in downtown St. Louis on conference weekend so rooms are now at a premium/scarse sadly.   You may have to put your best travel website/mobile application hotel finder skills to the test if you did not snag a room at the conference hotel and/or pay a premium price sadly.
