“Innovation Hub: Transporting IT Professionals into the Future”

It is hard to believe that soon we will be celebrating the 21stanniversary of the AITP National Collegiate Conference in Chicago this coming spring. The last AITP NCC event that was in the Chicagoland area was back in 2001 just after Y2K and we were out in Arlington Heights near Woodfield Mall and had to usebussesto transport contestants to/from the DeVry Chicago campus and used their on-campus computer labs. Their campus was located just outside of downtown Chicago (a 30minute minimum one-way drive but longer at times due to massive Chicago traffic) so be SO grateful that long ago – we switched to an onsite bring-your-own-computer model in Dallas (2006) and have done so ever since.

Chicago Chapter Excited About Hosting NCC 2016

By Paul Dittmann

As great as NCC 2015 was in Omaha, Chicago area schools were noticeably lacking. Bill Waas and I have been working hard to change that. So far we have met with 8 universities and colleges and all have committed toputtogether teams for NCC 2016: DeVry, DePaul, Loyola, Elmhurst, Dominican, Robert Morris, Governors State and Moraine Valley CC. We have another 8-10 schools we'll be meeting with in September and early October. We're finding it's an easy "sell" to Dean's and Department Chairs. They all seem to have top students they would like to showcase and are excited about having a tool to help engage their students. We'd like to get 700 students from 70 universities and colleges in this coming year's competition.
