GROUND TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Airport to/from Hotel The Omaha airport is just down the street from the Qwest Center Omaha and the Omaha Hilton Hotel.  Many national airlines fly into Omaha!  Additionally, the hotel provides COMPLIMENTARY airport shuttle service!
 

The Hilton airport shuttle will run from 5:00am - 12Midnight and go to the airport every half hour on the hour and on the half hour (arriving arriving at the airport at approximately five after and thirty-five after the hour). There is a courtesy phone at the airport by baggage claim that guests can use to call the hotel and let them know what door they are at;  then when they proceed outside they need to go to the center island for pick-up.  Departures to the airport can be set up with the guest service agents at the bell stand which located right next to the front desk. 

As an alternative, the Kansas City Airport is only about a 3 hour drive south of Omaha and I personally have made the drive twice due to the logistics, airline prices and having to be in both Omaha and Kansas City anyway.  It is not that bad a drive and if you find cheaper fares or better connections to/from Kansas City and would be renting a vehicle anyway....there is an alternative solution.
Hotel to/from Campus
  • Scheduled Shuttle bus service will be provided between the Qwest Center Omaha and the two campuses that will be used for the contest events (Metropolitan Community College and Creighton University)
  •  FREE surface lot campus parking will also be available at the campus
  • Maps will be provided at the conference registration desk and on the local event website
Entertainment
  • Kid Rock "was" scheduled to play Omaha on Thu 4/1/2004 but the tour switched cities and will now be in Kansas City that same night (Thu 4/1/2004) which is 3 hours due south (bummer)!!!
  • The Omaha Hilton and the Qwest Center Omaha are located on 10th street which is a direct link to the Old Market area of downtown Omaha which is filled with numerous shops, restaurants and entertainment hot spots all within walking distance!  Check out the local Omaha NCC site for maps and more information.
  • On Thursday (4/1/2004) - a Lewis & Clark Encampment Mixer will be held at the Qwest Convention Center from 4-6pm and sponsored by the Metropolitan Community College AITP student chapter and the Omaha AITP professional chapter
  • On Friday (4/2/2004) - a "Explore O!" scavenger hunt will be held starting at the Qwest Convention Center at 4pm sponsored by the Creighton University AITP student chapter
Hotel Parking
  • The Omaha Qwest Convention Center and the Hilton Omaha Hotel charge for parking as most downtown facilities do just like when the event was held in Kansas City and Tampa.
  • Qwest Center Omaha: $6 per in/out per day
  • Omaha Hilton Hotel (for hotel guests): Self-Park: $8/day; Valet=$14/day
