Starting February 1, 2004 - you can call 1-800-HILTONS and ask for the AITP Rate
The AITP National Collegiate Conference room block will be held until March 1, 2004. Afterwards, rooms will be on a space available basis and most of the double-double rooms have been booked but I'm looking into adding more to our hotel block! Remember, you can always cancel your reservation at a later date based on the actual head count of those attending the conference.
NOTE: As of March 3, 2004 - the Omaha Hilton is "sold-out" of double-double rooms (king rooms are still available!). I have secured near-by alternative lodging (of double-doubles) at the Hilton Garden Inn which is only 2 blocks from the Omaha Hilton and the Qwest Center Omaha!). Click here for alternative lodging information!
Information about the conference hotel:
The "under construction" Omaha Hilton hotel is on scheduled and a soft opening will occur in late March, 2004 - just in time for us!
The Hilton Omaha Hotel is directly across the street from the Omaha Qwest Convention Center and connected via an enclosed sky bridge BUT I just found out today (March 1, 2004) that it will not be open due to the delays caused by the recent record snowfall in the Omaha area this past winter so..... we will have to walk across the street and take the elevator or escalator to the second floor Qwest Center meeting space.
The hotel will be brand new and beautiful. In fact, we will be the first large group to stay there.
Behind the Omaha Convention Center is the waterfront area - home of the famous Rick's Boat Landing and other riverside establishments
Both the hotel and the convention center are located on 10th street which is only 6 blocks from the famous Omaha Old Market entertainment district - a safe and well-lit stroll/walk!
High-Speed Internet Access is available for $8.95/room for a 24-hour period thereafter.
PARKING: Self-Park: $8/day for hotel guests; Valet parking: $14/day for hotel guests; and surface bus/van parking is available too!
