    Airport
    • Detroit is served by the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) where Northwest Airlines (NWA) is a major carrier.  Of course American, United, Delta, Southwest and many other airlines service the Detroit airport as well.
    • DTW: Detroit Metro Airport (approximately 30 minute drive)

    • Northwest Airlines is the "Official Airline" of the 2007 AITP National Collegiate Conference and their website is www.nwa.com
    • Click "NWA Discount Travel E-Cert Redemption" at the bottom of the Flights tab on the Left hand side
    • Enter your flight details as normal then, near the bottom where it asks "Do you have an E-Cert Fare, electronic voucher or meeting agreement?", select it and PICK  "Meeting WorldFile Number" then enter the code NYUT3
    • The rest of the ticketing process will occur and you will realize up to 5-12% savings depending on the flights selected!!!!!
    • Note: When I (Kevin Jetton) booked my tickets using the code/procedure above - I saved $30/ticket!

    Airport to Hotel and Back

    Ground Transportation!

    • Checker Sedan is the preferred method of ground transportation from the Metro Detroit Airport to the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel.
    • They are offering our conference delegates a $20 discount for roundtrip orders which comes to $76 roundtrip but it is for up to 4 individuals!!!!
    • Yes, we know this is sort of expensive at $76 Net Price($48*2)-$20 roundtrip BUT it is for up to 4 individuals (as long as there is not way too much luggage).  Remember, Detroit is a "car driver town" and few need rides as everyone drives (domestic cars of course!).
    • Best to make your reservations ahead of time, just click here. for their online reservation pre-payment system.
    • When you arrive in Detroit, meet your Checker Sedan driver in the Ground Transportation Center of either the McNamara, Smith or Berry Terminals.
    • For the McNamara Terminal (Northwest, Continental & Delta), upon retrieving you luggage, go up one level and take the crossover into the parking garage. Take the RIGHT escalator down and to the left to the Checker Sedan counter.
    • For the Smith Terminal (all other airlines), upon retrieving your luggage, go outside and across the roadway to the 3 service curbs. Meet your Checker Sedan driver right at his/her car staged at the first curb lane.
    • If you require any assistance, please feel free to call Checker Sedan 24/7 at 313-963-1000.
    • Additional information is available at www.checkersedan.com.
    • Thank you for using Checker Sedan, the official luxury sedan service of Detroit Metro Airport and the AITP National Collegiate Conference!

Hotel Parking The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center has close & convenient valet and self-parking options.

Guest Parking Rates: Valet ($20) and self-parking ($15) per day

Additionally, there are surface lots in the area for oversized vehicles and also offer cheaper parking rates but you will have to pay for each in-and-out and walk a short distance.
