The Foundation for Information Technology Education (FITE) is pleased to announce the winner of the William R. Reaugh Memorial Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Bill Reaugh had a passion for AITP/DPMA through his many years of service not only to his chapter but the region and the association as well. He served as a past DPMA Association President and was instrumental in creating the original DPMA Model Curriculum many years ago. A more in-depth article about Bill can be found in the 2006 AITP Information Executive/Nanosecond archives at In Memory of Bill Reaugh.

This distinguished scholarship is awarded by the Foundation for Information Technology Education to support individuals seeking a degree in an information technology-related program. The William R. Reaugh Memorial Scholarship is awarded on the basis of demonstrated exceptional academic ability and financial need. Recipients must be full-time students pursuing a degree in Information Technology and member of an AITP Student Chapter.

The recipient of the 2012-2013 William R. Reaugh Memorial Scholarship is: Ryan Kinney, Kent State University, Ashtabula, Ohio.

Congratulations to Ryan for his achievement!

When he learned of his selection, Ryan told the Foundation:
"I feel very honored to receive the William R. Reaugh Memorial Scholarship. This comes as a welcome relief to a student who wants nothing more than to excel in his education and not add the stress of trying to pay for it. I know I will earn the trust you have placed in my abilities and will one day, when my education has been achieved, also help students like myself. Much like the scholarship's namesake, William R. Reaugh, I will give back to AITP, students, and the institutions that helped me achieve success. Once again, thank you so much for your help and faith in my abilities." Ryan P. Kinney, Kent State University Ashtabula Campus

The Foundation will soon be accepting applications for the 2013-2014 scholarships. An article will be published in Information Executive when applications are open.
