The AITP National Collegiate Conference continues to
be the single largest event produced by AITP annually and the 2013 event was yet
again no exception.
The conference, held
April 4-7, 2013 in St. Louis at the Millennium St. Louis Hotel, drew super attendance
with 710 total attendees.
chair Larry Friedlander (a long time NCC committee and St. Louis local) was
pleased not only with the numbers but also with how the four co-hosting AITP
student chapters all came together and not only handled their portions of the
conference but also stepped up when tasks to provide evening walking escorts
to/from the conference hotel due to the unplanned and sudden accelerated room
remodeling project at the Millennium Hotel!
Conference sponsors/exhibitors included returning
Diamond Sponsor Robert Half Technology.
Additional sponsors included State Farm, USAA, IBM, Certiport, the Foundation for Information Technology Education, COMMON, the ICCP Education
Foundation, and ITsymbiotics.
conference exhibitors included AITP, Enterprise Holdings, FNC, ICCP, INROADS, ITSD – State of Missouri, Visa and the 2013 Region 3 Student Conference this
fall in Oklahoma City wherein ALL AITP student members are invited!
Additional attendees included all the 2013 AITP
association officers and board members as they were holding their board meeting
in conjunction with the AITP NCC event which allowed them to mix-n-mingle with
student chapter members, leaders and faculty advisor alike throughout the
conference continues to deliver true value and opportunities to the AITP
student & faculty and unique opportunities to hear leading IT organization
speakers through keynotes and breakout sessions.
The keynote panel moderated by Robert Half
Technology got the event off to a huge success Friday Morning with tons of tips
for obtaining that cool job in the field of IT.
Planning has already
started for the 19th annual AITP National Collegiate Conference which will be
in downtown Atlanta April 10-13, 2014 which is conveniently located to the
World of Coke, the Georgia State Aquarium, CNN Center and more. In fact, we got
treated to a video that was shot in Atlanta of the 2014 AITP NCC "Harlem Shake” which was a big hit and your conference co-hosting AITP student chapters,
assisted by the Atlanta AITP professional chapter, include:
Chattahoochee Technical College
- Georgia Gwinnett College
On behalf of the
entire AITP NCC Committee & Volunteers, have a Great Summer and we hope to
see you in Atlanta next year!
