Your legacy is a reflection of your life, your work, and your highest values. It defines how you will be remembered by those closest to you.

Legacy giving – through a will or a charitable trust – allows you to devote your life’s work to a cause you are passionate about. By including the Foundation of Information Technology Education in your legacy giving, you ensure we continue:

  • To provide educational programs and services for information technology professionals, educators, the computer industry, business, government, or the general public.
  • To determine the needs and desires of information technology professionals with regard to professional education and development.
  • To develop and implement educational courses and information technology programs that will meet the needs and desires of information technology professionals.
  • To encourage the information technology profession in the development and adoption of technical and managerial information technology standards and preferred practices.
  • To develop and implement educational programs for information technology personnel self-evaluation.
  • To develop and implement educational programs for the evaluation of hardware, software and managerial systems.
  • To assist educational institutions in the development of effective business information technology curricula.

For these reason, we hope you will consider leaving a portion of your estate to the Foundation of Information Technology for Education in your will. Click here for more details. If you already have donated, thank you!  Ultimately, your gift will empower our work to continue to support scholarships and grants.

FITE is a fully qualified 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization. Gifts and grants to the Foundation are exempt from federal income tax, under section 501 (c) 3, Internal Revenue Code. Any major gift from you will greatly enhance our future efforts and also comes with substantial tax benefits.

Gifts of appreciated property (including stocks, bonds, assorted securities, and real estate) can have a dramatic impact. The impact of a direct gift of the appreciated asset is often greater than the impact that would result from first selling the asset and then making a gift of case, particularly if the assets have been held in excess of one year.

The Foundation also accepts gifts that are made as bequests in a donor’s will. If you are interested in making a gift as part of your estate planning process, we invite you to become a member of the DPMA Legacy Society.

The gifts and grants exemption from Federal Income Tax also applies to contributions made by AITP chapters, regions, officers, individual members or non-members. Chapter and individual contributions are often placed in the Foundation's endowment fund to ensure continuity of the Foundation and to provide maximum leverage for the contribution. Your help is solicited so that the Foundation's much needed and long overdue efforts in information management education can be continued and expanded.
