We are pleased to announce that Al Kuebler has joined the Association Board of Directors (ABoD), which confirmed his appointment as an Association Director--Western District at its May 2011 meeting. A member of the San Diego Chapter, Al fills the unexpired 2011-2012 term formerly held by Donny Shimamoto of the Honolulu Chapter.
As Senior Vice President & CIO for the McGraw-Hill Companies, Alcatel and AT&T Universal Card services, Al was responsible for planning, building and running of all IT services. He was also CIO for Los Angeles County. Earlier in his career, Al directed the consulting practices in Europe for CSC for four years, and he was a project manager with CSC for nine years in various international locations.
While at AT&T Universal Card, Al was part of the management team that received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the Service Category by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Al is also a regular contributing author to Computerworld IT management publications, CIO magazine and other IT management periodicals. He is also author of the book Technical Impact: Making Your Information Technology Effective, and Keeping It That Way.
