Having trouble applying for event funding from the new UGSS (User Group Support Services) website? You are not alone. Do not despair, curse out Microsoft or give up. This brief article will show you how to restore your ability to apply for event funding from UGSS.
UGSS has a new SharePoint-based website (same URL as the old site) and the member UGs (users groups) were migrated to the new site. But... what did not migrate were the affiliations and Microsoft products of interest or in use.
Here's what to do: Sign on to the UGSS website using your Live ID (live.com, hotmail, passport, etc. - also, see below) and edit your group's profile. Make sure to check your affiliation(s) - GITCA, Ineta and/or PASS, and don't forget to also check AITP. You will also have to check off the Microsoft products and technologies and any other missing fields. After you submit the edited profile, your group will now appear when you go to the funding tab.
If you don't have your sign-on credentials, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org specifying that you need your Live ID account, password or both. Please specify your chapter/region name and Live ID if you know it or previous UGSS website ID if you don't.
