The Systems Department at State Farm Insurance just completed a two day IT Symposium onsite for the associates in the department. The event included speakers on a wide variety of topics related to IT as well as booths from vendors and groups within the Systems Department.
The Twin City Chapter of AITP staffed a booth to inform the associates about the many benefits and opportunities that come with membership in AITP. Over two hundred and fifty folders were distributed, which included material from the association and highlights of chapter events. The visitors to the booth were given an opportunity to learn about how to enhance their careers by developing technical and interpersonal skills via AITP.
Chapter members from a number of companies staffed the booth and answered a variety of questions about how AITP is relevant to their careers. Special thanks go to the following chapter members who participated: Cheryl Garrett, Alan DeCrane, Bev Stevens, Gina Canfield, Brian Runyon, Michael Rodman, John Haushalter, Asad Alsader, Mark Gilfand, and Mike Sallee.
Everyone is looking forward to additional opportunities to visit with IT professionals and talk about AITP.
