The Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP)is working on a number of fund raisers to help them send a group of deserving students to St. Louis, Missouri next Spring for the AITP National Collegiate Conference.
And why not? After all, FVTC took first place this year in Oklahoma City at the last Collegiate Conference in the Graphic Communications competition against a number of major universities in a field of 16 teams. This accomplishment speaks highly of the quality of education, quality of faculty and quality of students who attend Fox Valley Technical College.
The National Collegiate Conference (NCC) is sponsored by the Association of Information Technology Professionals and annually is attended by Student Members of AITP from across the country representing over 80 academic institutions. The recent conference in Oklahoma City drew an attendance of over 600 of the "best of the best" of those students enrolled in collegiate programs related to Information Technology.
The Student Chapter from FVTC kicked off their fund raising efforts by holding a car wash at the Express Station on Richmond Street in Appleton, Wisconsin on June 14. Pictured below, with their first customer, Larry Schmitz, who is also the AITP Region 5 President, are some of the FVTC Student Members and their Faculty Advisor, Ms. Brenda Wilz. For more information on future fund raising events, which include more car washes, brat frys, and working concessions at Packer games, go to the FVTC Student Chapter website. Click here.
