Fall is upon us, but where I am at, the weather hasn't realized it is fall. The Annual Meeting of the Members is coming up on November 3, 2007 in Pittsburgh, PA. The meeting is being held in conjunction with the annual ISECON Conference, which is the Information Systems Educators Conference. The Annual Meeting of the Members will be at 3:00 pm at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh. The 2006 Annual Report will be posted on the web portal shortly. The board is working on getting the last few items cleared up. If you can make it, please come and join us.
The Association Board passed at it's regular monthly meeting a partner agreement with Emerson Network Power. In this agreement, Emerson will provide speakers to AITP Chapters. More details will be coming from the Partners and Affliates Committee.
The newly formed Student Leadership Council will meet for their first meeting at the Region 3 Student Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The Student Leadership Council has 4 members. The members are: Shelia Carter, Lanier Technical College, Region 7, Doug Fogle, Texas State University, Region 3, Jason Lesko, ECPI College of Technology, Region 18 and Chad Shultz, Ferris State University, Region 5. We should be proud of these students taking on the task of getting our student chapters going in the dirction they want and need to go. This is the future of AITP.
