Another successful National Collegiate Conference goes down in the books. The student members from Central Michigan University and the Central Michigan MIS Advisory Council did an outstanding job at the NCC 2007. Congratulations to all who worked hard to make it a success. Take some time to go to the NCC web site, and see an overview of the events and the list of winners. The speakers were outstanding, many students participated in the various competitions and lots of fun and excitement was had over the weekend. A big thank you goes to all the sponsors of this year's NCC. We had a record number of sponsors this year. Many of them conducted job interviews on the spot with many of our student members. Ms. Katherine Spencer Lee, Executive Director of Robert Half Technology challenged everyone to make 2008 the year we become the "Comma Club", having an attendance of over 1,000 people. Mark your calendars for NCC 2008 in Memphis, TN on March 27-29, 2008. Come and join us at the Peabody Hotel and get to see the famous "March of the Ducks" each day!!!!
In March, we announced a new strategic partnership with the Blade Systems Alliance (BladeS). This exciting partnership will enable AITP members to have access to new community resources for blade-based solutions, virtualization and other enabling technologies that are transforming today's data center and other high-density computing environments. Keep a watch for announcements of new partnerships and affiliations. Several are currently in the works.
We are proud to announce we have had one new professional chapter, Green Country Chapter in Tulsa, Oklahoma and four new student chapters, ITT Technical Institute - Eden Prairie, ITT Tech - Pittsburgh, University of San Diego and University of Texas - Pan American, formed in the last few weeks. We would like to welcome these chapters to the AITP family.
New on the web portal is the self-provisioning for your Chapter Leader information. Chapter leaders now have the capability of editing their own chapter leaders and officers. Help the Association communicate to your chapter better by keeping your chapter leader information current.
We are off to a great start in 2007. Tell your friends about AITP and have them visit our web site at: http://www.aitp.org/.
