Welcome to 2007. The Association Board hopes the year will be full of many great activities for you, the members. 2006 will go down in the books as a very successful financial year. Our goal is to keep 2007 on the same track.
If you are a chapter leader, please take a few moments to look at your chapter leaders on the web portal. If you need to make updates to your chapter leader list, send an email to AITP Headquarters. All you need to provide is the name and number of the chapter, list the people, their office and an email address or their membership number. This is important for student chapters as well. Student chapters, please include your faculty advisor in the list of chapter leaders. Having a good chapter leaders list will help your leaders receive important information.
We are constantly working with vendors to provide more member benefits. Adobe is the current vendor we are working on an agreement with. AITP participated at some of Adobe's Roadshows last year. AITP was given time during the opening session to talk about the benefits of AITP and its membership.
The National Collegiate Conference (NCC) online registration is open! The 2007 NCC is in Detroit, Michigan on March 29-31. Check out the site at www.aitp.org/ncc for all the details. If you are a professional member and have never had the opportunity to attend an NCC, try to make time to attend. The speakers are top notch and you will be impressed with the quality of the students in attendance. These will be our IT leaders in the future. If you are a student member and have never attended, you are missing out on a great conference. As mentioned earlier, not only are the speakers top notch, there are many different contests to participate in and networking with other IT students. Don't miss this great event.
We are looking forward to a great year in 2007. Tell your friends about AITP and have them visit our web site at: http://www.aitp.org/.
