The AITP Awards Committee is pleased to announce the Association Outstanding Chapter Award winner for 2005.
The following letter was submitted by Region 5 President Christine Leja, CDP/CCP.
The Capitol Chapter of AITP has been selected as the chapter to be submitted for the Association Outstanding Chapter Award by the Region 5 Awards Committee and is our 2005 ROCA winner.
The Capitol Chapter is a medium size chapter in Region 5 and is very involved as a local chapter. In addition, the Capitol Chapter is active in Region 5 activities and very supportive of the association as a whole.
In 2005, the AITP Capitol Chapter hosted the Spring Region 5 Leadership Conference which included a presentation from Association Vice President Mark Gilfand and a chapter workshop for all Region 5 chapters that included Mark Kleine and Mark Gilfand explaining the AITP website and all the AITP services available.
The successful support to students and the active membership makes the Capitol chapter a vibrant presence in the community, especially with their focus as the IT arm of the local Chamber of Commerce! In addition, the public relations campaign is an outstanding model to emulate! Visiting and talking with the Capitol Chapter members showed just how involved the members are. There is an organized team approach to chapter work, true friendship from working together, and a pride of AITP that is translated to the student chapters and the grooming of new and current members to be active chapter members.
