What Headquarters Can Do for You - Why Online Changes Matter

At Headquarters, it is our goal to provide year round value to AITP members in numerous ways. In past articles we have focused on starting chapters, affiliates recruitment and improving communication among others. One area that we haven't focused on, but we spend a great deal of time on is simple demographic changes, such as name, address, phone, email address, etc. We work to serve your needs and encourage you to call us with any questions; however, we want to make sure that you know that you can use the technology at your finger tips.
Did you know that the AITP web portal is an easy way to update demographic information? We receive anywhere from 100 to 200 requests per month asking us to update demographic information for our members. We are happy to make these changes, but did you know that you can update demographic information on your own through your user account? If you visit the web portal, you are given the option to change all of your demographic information, as well as subscribe or unsubscribe to AITP communications. By making these changes in the portal, all changes are made instantaneously and not subject to any user errors that occur during the transfer of information.
While you are updating your information, you are more than welcome to renew your membership online. The changes will be reflected immediately and you won't need to bother sending in checks. We have been keeping track of manual versus online registration and have found out some pretty interesting statistics. For all new AITP members, 83% are processed online in real-time through the portal. With renewing members we see the numbers dramatically drop to only 58% processed online. Why is this important you might ask? The simple reason it matters is because at Headquarters are striving to make your membership dues work for you. For each member that renews online, it is more time that we can dedicate to new and innovative programs.
