National Collegiate Conference an Outstanding Success The National Collegiate Conference (NCC) this year was an another great success, thanks to Conference Director Kevin Jetton and Conference Chairs Deborah and Bill Fly. Over 800 students, faculty, professional members, speakers, and exhibitors attended the conference in Dallas Texas. The student competitions were packed. The professional presentations were filled with high quality information for both professional and student members. Sponsors and exhibitors had the opportunity to meet and interview the best and brightest students in the country. See Kevin Jetton's wrap-up article in Information Executive.
NCC continues to be an outstanding educational opportunity provided by AITP to its members. It is a multi-track educational opportunity. In addition, AITP student members compete for prizes and national recognition in events like Web Design, Cobol, JAVA, Network Design, Systems Analysis & Design, Database Design, Visual Studio.Net, PC Troubleshooting, and many more. The job fair at NCC is a way for employers and vendors to create awareness of their organization to current IT professionals, upcoming IT professionals and IT faculty.

Nominations Open for Association Board of Directors and Officers Nominations are now open for the 2007 positions on the Association Board of Directors and for the Association officer positions of Secretary/Treasurer and Executive Vice-President/President Elect.
Each year, a District Director is elected from each of our four Districts for a two-year term. The Association is divided into four Districts: Western District, which includes Regions 1, 2, and 4 Central District, which includes Region 5 Southern District, which includes Regions 3 and 7 Eastern District, which includes Region 11, 13, and 18
The Association also elects a Secretary/Treasurer and Executive Vice-President/President Elect for a one year term. The current Executive Vice-President/President Elect, Teresa Hickerson will automatically assume the position of 2007 Association President.
Please consider running for one of these open positions for District Director or Association Officer. You can share your time and talents with your peers across the Association. As an elected association official, you can have vital impact on the growth and future of AITP along with the opportunity to enhance your professional skills and career.

$15 New Member Fee Eliminated At the Association Board of Directors meeting in Dallas, Texas, the Board voted to eliminate the long-standing $15 New Member fee. Over the years, AITP has worked to streamline processes and eliminate processing overhead. And more and more members are joining AITP online, which reduces processing even more. These factors and many other cost savings techniques have allowed us the flexibility to eliminate the one-time new member fee, making AITP an even greater value for the professional IT community.
AITP Promotion in May Throughout May, 2006, AITP is once again conducting a discount-based new member program. IT Professionals can join AITP during May, 2006 for just $80, plus local dues. This is a great opportunity for existing members to talk to their peers and their employers and invite others to join us in the AITP experience.
New Programs Reviewed at the Board of Directors Meeting The Association Board of Directors had the opportunity to review several new programs at its meeting in Dallas, Texas. Several potential vendor affiliations were reviewed. When completed, these affiliations will allow us to provide members with more discounts to IT education, products and services.
We also reviewed the partnership with Culminis, which provides many services to our chapters and individual members. We are working on new ways of ensuring that chapters know about and can take advantage of the Culminis program.
The Board also previewed an exciting new professional member promotion program that is currently being piloted by 10 chapters. More information about these programs will be sent to members as they are completed.
During our time in Dallas, we were able to meet with many of the Region Presidents during their Region Presidents Council meeting. The Region Presidents also joined us during the Association Board of Directors meeting, where we approved a new event registration program that will help Regions offer local conferences.
