Fri Jan 27-28, 2006 in San Antonio, the 1st AITP Region 3 multi-chapter workshop of 2006 was held with 13 in attendance:
Dallas chapter: Deborah Lovell , Bill Fly, Diana Rockel, Robin Austin and Ted Layne Big Country chapter: Linda Miller Austin chapter: Jeff Smith and Keith Stone San Antonio chapter: Everett Welch, JoAnn Gude, Shane Pruitt, Mark Darhland and Kevin Jetton
We started out with a group dinner on Friday night, held an AITP National Collegiate Conference planning meeting on Saturday morning and followed it with a leadership workshop with lunch included for all attendees. Former DPMA association/region/chapter level leader Art Robb and his wife Ruby also joined us much to the delight of Bill Fly as we all shared old DPMA events and stories. Naturally, the food-of-choice for everyone including organizer Kevin Jetton was Mexican Food which we had for both meals!
AITP Region 3 covered the lodging for the Region 3 officer co-presentors (Deborah Lovell and Linda Miller) as well as picked up the tab for lunch for everyone. Only bad thing was that Region 3 President Linda Miller took ill and was unable to attend let alone co-lead the session on Saturday but she is doing better now.
Region 3 continues it's committment to the members and chapters of the region not only with time but with expertise, materials, motivation, great examples and idea sharing but also with our region funds.
Of course, Region 3 and specifically the Dallas chapter along with Midwestern State University AITP student chapter will be hosting the "Professional Grade" AITP National Collegiate Conference Mar 30-Apr 1, 2006 in Dallas.......so you will see lots more of the Dallas folks.
