The following letter was submitted by Region 3 President Linda Miller.
I respectfully submit the Dallas Chapter for consideration for the Association Outstanding Chapter for 2004.
The Dallas Chapter was chosen as the Region 3 Outstanding Chapter for 2003 because of excellence and their 2004 COPA submission documents that the excellence continues. Deborah , 2004 & 2005 President of the Dallas Chapter has demonstrated extraordinary leadership which has resulted in earning the most COPA points of any Chapter in Region 3.
The Dallas Chapter excels at every level and aspect of AITP including:
Outstanding Monthly Program attendance - average 65 to 75 per month
Outstanding Monthly Program Topics & Speakers - developed "IT Executive Spotlight" series and "Professional Development" series after surveying membership's needs
Outstanding Membership - increased membership almost doubled (64 to 124)
Outstanding Increase in Committee Volunteers - member participation
Outstanding Recognition - Publicity (22 individual articles on our members) in The Dallas Morning News
Outstanding Community Involvement: Annual Toy Drive (raised $2,000 for Buckner Children's Home)
Outstanding Support in Education for Members - In addition to their 10 local chapter monthly programs, sponsored several IT pro classes from New Horizons & Microsoft
Outstanding Support to Student Chapters - speakers, financial & personal development
Outstanding Region Support - representatives at Region 3 Conferences regularly and their President is serving her third year on the Region 3 Board for 2005
I believe that the Dallas Chapter represents a true "Chapter of Excellence" through their hard work, planning, and involvement which should be recognized by awarding the Dallas Chapter the Association Outstanding Chapter Award for 2004.
