The Dallas chapter announced the creation of an award for outstanding leadership for those members who provide continuous outstanding and distinguished services to the chapter and the IT community. The award has been named The Mary Farrell Award in honor of its first recipient, Mary D. Farrell, for her dedication and continued leadership of the chapter.
"Mary has faithfully led our Dallas chapter for over the past 25 years in several roles from chapter liaison to president, and inspired our new board to provide a strong focus on providing our IT professionals a solid education and networking venue," said Deborah R. Lovell, president of AITP Dallas. "So when we decided to create this award for continuous, distinguished and outstanding leadership contributions to our chapter, it was a unanimous decision to honor her as the first recipient and name the award after her."
