The Puget Sound and Evergreen chapters co-hosted the Region 2 Spring 2004 meeting on April 23-24 in beautiful Seattle (actually Tukwila). And I do mean BEAUTIFUL! We could not have asked for more perfect weather. Friday night activities included Region 2 member meeting and Technical Seminar from Microsoft. We held the Region 2 BOD meeting on Saturday.
On Friday evening, Jim Henry (Western District Representative), Sam Luke (Association President) and I presented updates. The members attending participated in a workshop that asked them to consider the question "If you were in front of the Association BOD, what ideas (with details) would you give to help AITP grow and thrive?" This generated many ideas, and I will soon be sharing them with the ABOD.
The Microsoft presentation by Microsoft Technology Specialist Rob Westover was on the timely subject of security tools. Rob provided numerous door prizes from Microsoft for the benefit of the luckiest attendees.
Saturday's BOD meeting covered the usual region business, including the 2004 budget, audit report for 2002 and 2003 financials, nominating committees. We also made the decision to hold our Fall 2004 Region 2 meeting in conjunction with the association meeting in Las Vegas during November.
