AITP has a long-standing tradition of recognizing the efforts of the outstanding achievements of its chapters and its regions across the nation, and in turn, those dedicated volunteers who drive these chapters to success. This year was no exception! The PCS Award (Professional Chapter Standard Incentive Program), COPA (Chapter Outstanding Performance Award), ROPA (Region Funding Award), and the ROCA (Region Outstanding Performance Award) are but four examples of the extensive awards program that the association offers its members in acknowledging their collective commitment to AITP over the calendar year.
PCS Award
The Professional Chapter Standard (PCS) Award was developed to provide financial rewards to chapters that meet specific objectives over the course of the year. These objectives are basic functions of an AITP chapter in good standing including, but not limited to: membership retention, chapter awards incentives, education, public relations and outreach, and association participation.
COPA Award
The Chapter Outstanding Performance Award (COPA) Award recognizes AITP chapters that have performed in an outstanding manner during the year. The award acknowledges outstanding performance in the following areas: education, membership, public relations, chapter meetings, and association participation.
ROCAAward
In addition, AITP is proud to recognize our 2002 Region Outstanding Performance Award (ROCA) winners. This award was established to recognize and award those chapters in each Region that have performed in an exemplary fashion in the areas of education, membership, public relations, chapter meetings, and association participation. In turn, one of these outstanding chapters will be awarded the overall Association Outstanding Chapter of the Year (AOCA) award in St. Louis at the AITP Association Conference this October.
2002 COPA, ROCA & PCS Award Winners
With over thirty-five chapters participating in the PCS Awards and forty chapters participating in the COPA Awards, AITP is extremely proud of the hard working and dedicated chapters who attained the COPA, the ROCA and the PCS Award for 2002. They are as follows:

ROPA Award
While the PCS and COPA awards are given to AITP chapters, the Region Funding Award (ROPA) was designed to provide financial rewards and incentives to regions that are active and functioning in accordance with AITP rules and regulations. To qualify for this funding, a region must:
- be officially recognized by the Association and have bylaws in accordance with the Region Model Bylaws,
- have duly elected officers and provide notification of these officers to headquarters,
- complete a Region Financial Report and submit to headquarters as directed,
- hold at least one meeting with a quorum of the participating chapter representatives in attendance,
- submit a list of all participating chapters in the Region,
- sponsor one education event per year that attracts a certain percentage of active membership of their participating chapters.
