The Twin City Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is pleased to honor one of its members for his many contributions to the local chapter and the information technology profession. Mark Gilfand, State Farm, was recently awarded the AITP Gold Lifetime Individual Performance Award (IPA) at a local chapter meeting.
This award recognizes the meritorious services rendered and sacrifices of time and effort made by a member on behalf of the Association. Chapter members are awarded points each year for activities such as serving on a committee, participating in meetings, earning certifications, speaking to a group about Information Technology, or being an Officer or Director at the chapter, region or national level. It takes several years of active participation in AITP events and leadership positions to earn points and reach the various award levels. 900 points are required to meet the Gold Lifetime Membership level.
Mark has been a member of the local chapter for over 31 years. He has been a very active and supportive member at the chapter, region and association levels, serving as the Twin City Chapter President in 1987, Region 5 President in 2001-2012, and AITP Association President in 2006. Mark is currently AITP Region 5 Vice-President, Editor of the AITP Information Executive e-newsletter, and Treasurer of the Foundation for Information Technology Education (FITE).
