Bobby Gene Baldauf, age 65, passed away February 7, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born May 16, 1946, in San Antonio to Eugene and Edna Baldauf. He attended and was a graduate of Alamo Heights High School class of 1963, where he was in the drumline playing snare drum. Bob was an avid street rodder - a racer at heart with the NHRA where he raced the circuit in the late 60's to mid 70's in the pro-stock ranks.

He was a 20 year member and Past President of the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA) receiving numerous awards.  He helped the San Antonio chapter establish the $50K scholarship fund we have "today” due to the efforts of the chapter leaders of the 1980's and early 1990's.  Bob was Past Chairman of the Public Affairs Committee of the San Antonio Livestock Expo and dedicated member of SALE which raises money for youth scholarships.

He was a good Christian man and a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was a giving man who continued to give after his death by donating his corneas, and thus the gift of sight to two people through the San Antonio Eye Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack, who was killed in the Korean War. Bob is survived by his wife, Lu Pochelski Baldauf; daughter, Sherrill Cockrill and husband Glenn; grandchildren, Courtney Cowan and and Christopher Cockrill; sisters-in-law, Sister Lenore Pochelski and Louise Pochelski.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to GOLD, P.O. Box 90584, San Antonio, TX 78209 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. GOLD is a four day leadership seminar provided to high school sophomores at no charge. See:
