AITP is accepting nominations for the 2012 Distinguished Information Sciences Award (DISA). DISA is AITP's highest award that recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions through distinguished servces to the field of information management.
A candidate for this award need not be an AITP member. Nominations are open to all men and women. There are no restrictions as to the nature of the contributions or the type of service rendered by an individual being considered for nomination, as long as it pertains directly to the interests and advancement of information management.
The first DISA was awarded in 1969 to Rear Admiral Grace M. Hopper. Since then, DISA recipients have included Dr. Paul M. Pair, H. Ross Perot, Bill Gates and Lt. Gen Emmett Paige, Jr. See other DISA recipients at: http://www.aitp.org/?page=DISA.
The deadline for the 2012 DISA submissions is November 30, 2012.
To nominate an individual for this prestigious award, please read the DISA Manual, complete the DISA Nomination Form that is in the manual, and send the form in an email to vicepresident@aitp.org (with a copy to awards@aitp.org):

All candidate submissions will be reviewed by the DISA Selection Committee, chaired by the Association Executive Vice-President / President Elect who will select the winner for approval by the Association Board of Directors.
