Happy New Year! 2013 is here and should be a remarkable year for AITP. New association officers and a new director assume their new role today. Your board of directors is ready to take on the challenges of this New Year. The Membership Marketing Research Project has concluded and now we must create a plan to use the information gathered to increase membership and assist our chapters to become stronger. A new event management system is nearing completion and will be used to open NCC registration in a few weeks.
There are three priority items for chapter leaders to address this month: officer updates, conflict of interest, and chapter affirmation. All three of these items may be reached by selecting Members Only from the left navigation bar, then AITP Reports, and finally Chapter Reports. First, the Chapter Officer Lists form may be found at http://www.aitp.org/resource/resmgr/chapter_documents/aitp_chapter_officers_(word).doc. All professional and student chapters, and regions, should complete this form and email it to aitp_hq@aitp.org. This will help ensure that the correct people in your chapters and regions get emails from AITP that are directed to chapter/region leaders.
Next, all AITP leaders are requested to complete the online Conflict of Interest form at http://www.aitp.org/?page=Conflict_of_Interest
Finally, professional chapters wishing to receive the $5 per new member and member renewal rebate should complete the Chapter Affirmation Form http://www.aitp.org/?ChapterAffirm by January 25th, 2013. The $5 chapter incentive will be added to chapter rebates beginning with the month the form is submitted, so get it submitted this month to start receiving it for January memberships.
As your new association president, I promise to lead your association effectively, to manage finances responsibly, and communicate openly and effectively with you the member. Let's make 2013 a remarkable year. Please, feel free to contact me at president@aitp.org at any time, and I promise that I will respond promptly.
I wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.
Regards,
William W. Fly Association President, 2013 president@aitp.org
