AITP welcomes its newest Student Chapter: The Chicago - Student Chapter At- Large (SCA). See: http://www.aitp.org/group/5309.
This chapter, which is affiliated with the AITP Chicago Professional chapter, will accommodate students that are not aligned with a particular college or university and do not have a critical mass of student participation in their school. The chapter will function in collaboration with Illinois Technology Foundation - Student Club made up of students from a number of local colleges. These students will be encouraged to join the AITP Student Chapter At-Large to help them establish contacts with the Chicago professional community and become full-fledged members of AITP after they graduate.
The concept of a "student chapter at large" to bring in students from multiple colleges and universities is a pilot program recently approved by the AITP Board of Directors. The idea was championed by AITP Chicago's Dave Kamath, Paul Dittmann and William Waas.
