AITP/SIM 2013 CIO’s Most Effective IT Team Awards

Chicago and SIM Chicago wish to congratulate the teams of True Value Company
(pictured left above) and tradeMONSTER Group (pictured right above), winners of
the 2013 CIO’s Most
Effective IT Team Awards. All nominations, judging, and
elections were done by peers in the information technology community. The
awards were presented at the Awards Program dinner on November 7th.
The Chicago chapters of the Association of Information Technology
Professionals (AITP) and the Society
for Information Management (SIM) are proud to announce the winners of the 2013 CIO’s Most Effective IT Team
Awards. This year's team winners are True Value Company – Large Company
Winner and tradeMONSTER Group – Small Company Winner.
Representing the IT team of True Value Company are Eva Basner-Katz, Director of Infrastructure &
Security, Robert Weismann, Manager/Retail Services & Associate Support, Scott Zelms, Manager/Applications Development Legacy Systems & Support, Mike Weeder, Retail Systems Architect, and Lisa Snyder, Director, Business
Services led by Rosalee Hermens, Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
Representing the IT team of tradeMONSTER Group are Kris Kohlstedt, Director of Technology, Dan
Applebaum, Director of Technology, Lucy Bishop, QA Manager, and Dham
Pathervellai, Manager of Integration and Operations led by Sanjib Sahoo, Chief
Taking place over a 90-day
period and culminating with an Awards Dinner at the Metropolitan Club of
Chicago in November, the program consists of a nomination phase, a qualifying
and detailed application process, and a peer panel of judges who score each team.
The awards are designed to recognize the achievements of the teams as well as
the significant role that teams play in the overall success of an organization and
contributions to the IT community as a whole. Nominated teams were judged in award
classes based on company size with points awarded in the following categories: cost
effectiveness, innovation, change leadership, value creation, service quality,
and community. The program received local industry support and sponsorship from
Comcast Business Class, CDW, and DivIHN Integration.

Susan Malisch, President of SIM Chicago and VP, CIO at Loyola University Chicago, and
Gary Czubak, President of AITP
Chicago were delighted by this year's slate of CIO nominated teams. "There are some excellent success stories in the Chicagoland business
technology community that we should know about. These awards help CIO’s
and the community recognize high performing teams that are making a difference
for their businesses,” said Malisch. Czubak shared "It
is a great honor to recognize not only those teams within our vast technology
community that receive this award, but also those that strive to be worthy. I
offer my sincere congratulations to all!"
