Having just attended the Winter Pre-Meeting for the
National Collegiate Conference and I came away more enthused and excited about
this year’s conference. Having attended the last 16 conferences, and being
involved with the committee since 1999, this year’s conference sounds as good
as any in the past. The 6 student chapters and the Atlanta Professional chapter
presented what they are going to do for the students who will be attending the
conference. The following are some of the things being planned to keep everyone
involved while in Atlanta:
Chattahoochee Technical College –
This chapter will handle Thursday night’s Scavenger Hunt which is shaping
up to be a fun contest. More information
will be on the NCC website.
Georgia Gwinnett College –
They will handle the Thursday afternoon Welcome Reception and have planned
a set of activities to keep early comers busy and entertained to meet and greet
new student members.
Southern Polytechnic State University –
This chapter has taken ownership of the Friday Night LAN Party. Their idea includes XBOX games and prizes for
the best gamers, so make plans to attend and play (only if you are not already
having fun in a contest). Again, more to come later.
Central Georgia Technical College– The chapter will handle the Banquet setup and center pieces. They are also working on some additional ideas for the Banquet.
Gwinnett Technical College –
The Saturday night slide show will be handled by this student chapter. They will be asking for your photos to help
fill out the slide show, so watch for more details before and during the
Georgia Piedmont Technical College – They
will help Gwinnett Technical College with the photo slide show.
Atlanta AITP Professional Chapter –
These dedicated professionals are helping out with a lot support for the
Student Chapters and the Conference staff itself.
So I am looking forward to see all the students who are
attending and participating at the AITP National Collegiate Conference 2014 in
