SCOPA and SIPA Winners Announced

The winners of the 2013-2014 Student Chapter Outstanding Performance Award (SCOPA) and the Student Individual Performance Award (SIPA) are announced.
For a school to receive the SCOPA award, they must have outstanding accomplishments in the areas of education, membership, public relations, chapter meetings and association participation. For a student to receive the SIPA award, they must have sustained meritorious individual effort, both in the administration of the student chapter and in the increase of knowledge in information technology.
The universities who received the SCOPA this year are from Regions 3, 4, 5 and 18. The universities from Region 3 are: Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana and the Faculty Advisor is Barbara Russell, Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas and the Faculty Advisor is Kevin Jetton, and University of Houston, Houston, Texas and the Faculty Advisor is Bret Detillier. The university from Region 4 is Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri and the Faculty Advisor is Michelle Hulett. The Region 5 university is Ball State University, Munice, Indiana with Faculty Advisor Fred Kitchens. The two universities from Region 18 are Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina, Faculty Advisor Scott Hunsinger and Kent State University at Ashtabula, Ohio, Faculty Advisor Carolyn Carvalho.
The following students received the Two-Year SIPA award: Ron Johnston, Ball State University, Harry Kimberling, Cameron University and Matt Foshee, Northwestern State University. Students receiving the Four-year SIPA award are: Markita Nash, Cameron University and Joanna Snipes, Northwestern State University.
