As promised in the last few 2010 President's Messages, the first decade of this century came to a close with a bang!
In December, your Association Directors approved:
Migration of aitp.org from our current custom-designed platform to an Association Member Management System (AMMS). AITP will use this new system to improve membership tracking and to provide a new, modern website with advanced functionality. With the new AMMS we can provide improved reports for our chapters and regions, as well as usability enhancements when joining or renewing virtually. The new website platform can provide many more benefits to our members, attract more partners and affiliates, and will reduce overall costs which will allow us to further expand member benefits. The contract with YourMembership.com was signed on December 30, 2010. The steering committee composition is being finalized to move forward quickly on a phased migration. They will be communicating directly with your local leaders as there is progress. During the Spring Region Presidents Meeting in Orlando, an interactive workshop is planned.
Extension of the Unemployed Member Promotion thru 5/31/2011 Due to the popularity and success in drawing a number of new members during the 2010 Unemployed Member Promotion, this promotion was extended into 2011. The membership team will be updating the flyers and other promotional materials to reflect the new expiration date soon.
Updated Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics The update includes combining the former two document versions into a single document. The new document will be posted soon.
Approved the 2009 Association Outstanding Chapter Award (AOCA) and 2010 Distinguished Information Sciences Award (DISA) Surprise presentations will be made by a local Association Officer in the first quarter of 2011.
I want each of you to know your volunteer work and other contributions to AITP are deeply appreciated by your 2010 Association Officers and Directors. The contribution of each of you was very important and has made a significant difference to AITP in 2010!
It has been my privilege and honor to serve as your 2010 Association President. I look forward to advising the 2011 Board as we embark on the new decade.
Wishing you each a happy, productive and prosperous 2011!
