Monthly Treasurer’s Report Summary

The Statement of Financial Position as of June 30, 2011, as reported at the July 27th Board of Directors meeting:

Summary:

Total Assets: $416, 334

Total Liabilities: $247, 682

Total Net Assets: $168, 652

Total Liabilities & Net Assets: $416, 334

The Annual Budgeting Cycle began July 7th in order to formulate the budget for 2012. The Budget Committee includes the Finance Committee, Executive Director Ted Pfeiffer, President Jim Henry, Exec. VP. Norbert Kubilus, Treasurer Pete Schmitt, Secretary & Immediate Past President Beth Pirrie and Mike Welch, 2012 Treasurer. The Budget Committee is scheduled to meet bi-weekly, targeting completion November 23rd.

Budgeting will be using the Zero Base Budget (ZBB) technique, utilizing input from all of the Service Areas to formulate revenue and expense budgets for 2012.

My suggestions as a Past Treasurer: Reduction of Board expenses by eliminating the face to face meetings. If there is a face to face meeting then change expense policy to have a set dollar amount per day for meals. Reduction of Conference Call expenses by eliminating toll free phone numbers for Association committees. If toll free phone numbers are not eliminated then reduce usage to monthly calls that are limited to 2 hours. Do not hold a 2012 Annual Conference/Annual Meeting of the Members, hold the Meeting of the Members electronically. Strongly encourage NCC management team to reduce expenses and have milestones to ensure a break even or profitable conference. Tie these milestones to the payment of the NCC management fees. Request a reduction in Smith Bucklin Management fees due to the reduction of membership and revenue. Eliminate the Association paying for IPA plaques. Reduce the funding awarded to Regions and Chapters. Eliminate ICCP Travel

Discussions are welcome. Discussions involving reducing expenses and increasing revenue are welcome, even if you think it's been said before.

Will there be discussions on how to build the reserve back up to at least $200,000?
