Earlier this summer, the Association Marketing Committee launched a new logo design contest to tap into the creative minds of our members. The contest was advertised across our entire membership with a contest deadline of July 15. We received four submissions designed by: Dennis Schmidt and Tess Schwenka of the Cornhusker Chapter and Dion Wirrenga and Joshua Ternes of the Central Dakota Chapter. Every one of the entries had a unique character that showed the creative and entrepreneurial nature of our AITP members. Ultimately, these submissions were reviewed by the Committee and submitted along with a recommendation to the Association Board of Directors for review at the August board meeting.
After much deliberation the Grand Prize was awarded to Dion Wirrenga of the Central Dakota Chapter. As part of the Grand Prize, Dion will be receiving a check for $1,000 from AITP. The Grand Prize logo will now be submitted to the AITP marketing firm who will use the design as a base concept to create a new AITP logo. The new logo will be unveiled at the 2009 Members Summit being held in Dallas on January 22-24, 2009.
