As the first part of a year long series, I would like to explain the day to day operations of your Headquarters Staff. Each month, I will explain another aspect of what we do for the Association of IT Professionals as well as inform all members of new initiatives that we are working to implement to make your membership more valuable. In today's article, I would like to re-introduce the Headquarters staff that currently facilitates operations at Headquarters.
I am honored to have recently been appointed Executive Director of the Association. I have been working with AITP since June of 2005, and in the process have learned a great deal as to what makes the Association function. Perhaps most importantly, I have gained a genuine understanding of where we are heading in the future. In conjunction with the Association Board of Directors, we are currently researching and implementing programs that bring more value to the Association's members. Whether this is the inclusion of value added propositions from one of our growing list of affiliates or the development of sound education provided by industry thought leaders, we realize that the membership is constantly looking for ways to improve their standing in their current company or enhance their resume for future employment. We intend to deliver on this promise in 2005 and beyond.
We have two other members of our staff that play a critical role in the implementation of day to day processes. They are Rita Giovenco and Ashley Wood. Rita Giovenco focuses on two major areas of support Chapter and Region support and the National Collegiate Conference. As an AITP member or Chapter Leader, you are welcome to contact Rita at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or requests. Similarly, Rita is working with our National Collegiate Conference Chairman to help organize the National Collegiate Conference. If you are a student member with questions on how to register or how to participate in contests that are available, please contact Rita so she can help with general clarification.
Ashley Wood plays an ever important role in the processing of all new and renewing memberships. As a norm, we process memberships within 48 hours of receipt of payment. If you have registered or renewed through www.aitp.org and are having problems accessing the website or have not received your membership packet, we encourage you to contact Ashley at email@example.com so we can quickly respond to the issue. It is important to note that Ashley reviews all emails that are sent to the firstname.lastname@example.org mailbox on throughout the day and works to respond as timely as possible given the details of the question.
Of course there is much more to what we do than what has been listed above. In the months to come, I intend to write an article each month that highlights some of the processes and new value promotions that we are working to secure for our members.
