The Houston Chapter honored scholarship recipients from the University of Houston, Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University at our April dinner meeting. As a membership drive, we offered a free dinner in April to all paid members as of March 31, 2005. We announced it as a surprise benefit for a couple of months before we revealed that dinner would be free. That surprise element lended mystery and excitement to the announcement to generate more interest.
