ICCP Exam Recommendations Renewed American Council on Education (ACE)
The American Council on Education (ACE) has renewed the recommendation of awarding college credits for those who pass the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP) examinations. The ICCP has been continuously accredited by ACE since 1987. Exams taken on a proficiency basis (not for certification) are also available for college credit.
The credit recommendations were made for the ACE Credit by Examination program based on a review by a leading panel of Information Technology educators. Granting college credit is a decision made by colleges and universities. A recent ACE survey showed that more than 90% of all educational institutions grant college credit based on examination. The credit recommendation is valid when a candidate scores a minimum of 70% on each of the examinations. For more information on the number of credits ACE recommends for individual ICCP exams, please visit our web site (www.iccp.org), or contact the ICCP office at 800-U-GET-CCP or email@example.com.
The ICCP is proud to be recognized as such a valuable resource to college students, saving them time and money with demonstrated knowledge. Passing the examinations also allows an individual to simultaneously work towards a college degree in computing or business information systems.
Employers and peers recognize the prestigious ICCP Certified Computing Professional (CCP) and Associate Computing Professional (ACP) designations as proof of professional competence. The ICCP has recently added the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), as well as the Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP). ICCP certifications exhibit comprehensive knowledge of stringent industry fundamentals.
New Data Exams Available
The new suite of data specialty exams developed by DAMA International and the ICCP are now available. They are the Data Management, Data Warehousing and Database Administration exams. These exams replace the Data Resource Management (DRM) exam. Since the data oriented subject matter and body of knowledge have grown beyond one exam over the years, DAMA recommends that at least three exams, if not more, are needed to reflect the expanding data/information management areas in the IT industry.
The DRM exam is now officially retired. Those candidates who have taken the DRM exam in the past can still apply this exam towards the CCP, CDMP and CBIP designations. If you have any questions about your certification candidacy, please contact the ICCP office at firstname.lastname@example.org
