Girl Scout Merit Badge
The MSTC Stevens Point Chapter of the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP) helped 43 girl scouts from the Woodland Council earn their technology badges on Saturday, February 26, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Community service projects are included in the chapter's practice/philosophy.

The girl scouts learned desktop publishing and how to work with computer graphics, did comparison-shopping on the Internet, opened an e-mail account, learned a little about computer programming and troubleshooting, and evaluated and played different computer games. Twenty students worked with the girl scouts along with their AITP advisor, Sherrilee Wallerman and IT instructor, Volker Gaul.

NCC
Four students from our chapter participated in the AITP National Collegiate conference. Our chapter ranked in the top 10 for the chapter website contest. We placed first in an entertaining competition; the scavenger hunt. The students used their teamwork skills to find answers relating to the Atlanta, Georgia area. The hunt took the students on a search throughout the university campus, their website, as well as research on the internet, and riding around the city of Atlanta. One of our members, Sandy Schultz took an IT certification exam called ICCP - Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals at the conference and passed it.
