The Foundation for Information Technology Education announces the appointment of Nita Adams and Kevin Jetton as new members of the Board of Regents. They replace Brian Reithel and Bill Reaugh who have recently completed their six year terms as Regents. The Foundation wishes to thank both Brian and Bill for their many contributions to the efforts of the Foundation, and to AITP and to our profession.

Larry Schmitz, incoming President of the Foundation reports "Brian and Bill will go down in the annals of AITP and the Foundation as two of our most dedicated and successful leaders-committed to AITP, committed to the profession and to the goals and objectives of the Foundation for Information Technology Education."

About the Foundation
The Foundation for Information Technology Education was founded in 1975 (originally called the DPMA Education Foundation) as a 501c(3) corporation in order to be able to accept tax deductible contributions to carry out its mission to provide for, and promote, the education and professional development of individuals within the information technology profession.

Examples of the Foundation's efforts in this area are:

--The Foundation puts on its annual ISECON conference for IS/IT educators. This highly successful conference, which continues to grow each year, is managed for the Foundation by AITP's EDSIG group which is responsible, in large part, for its continuing success.

--Each year, the Foundation lends financial support to AITP's National Collegiate Conference. This conference features a number of high quality speakers and academic competitions in the field of information technology that attracts 700-800 of the brightest IT/IS collegians in the United States.

--The Foundation also administers a number of scholarship programs. For more information, go to the Foundation website at

As a qualified not-for-profit organization, donations to the Foundation are tax deductible for federal tax purposes.
