We are reaching the halfway mark of the year and our progress in reaching our goals has been good. Directors, committees and members can feel proud of our accomplishments thus far.
Our partnership programs are going well with many more being considered. The point here is that we get good and worthwhile benefits for members. Three outstanding partners to date are Robert Half Technology, which gave super support to NCC, Kinkos, which sent members 30 percent discount cards, and Microsoft in the Culminis venture. Microsoft has been sending exceptional speakers with software handouts to region and chapter meetings.I personally witnessed their presentation and gifts at a recent Region 2 meeting in Seattle.
The best-ever National Collegiate Conference was a huge success both financially and from the perspective of member and student satisfaction. The letters of appreciation and thanks are still coming in to chair and past president Kevin Jetton. We thank him and those who helpedfor the outstanding job.
In marketing, we saw the first membership promotion campaign launched wherein a $40 discount was offered to new members signing up in the month of May. No doubt this helped chapters in recruitment efforts. Director Craig Kennedy has plans for a new student member campaign in a few months.
Our portal managed and serviced by Mark Kleine has been getting better by the week. I urge you to visit it or continue to visit it often. Updates and new additions come often. This is the best way to see our progress in the entire association. The links to regions and chapters are helpful tools you should use.
Our monthly board and EC conference calls have been going well. All the members continue to be diligent about board goals. I commend and thank the officers, board members and all the volunteersfor the effort and sacrifices toward programs designed to earn members' loyalty immediately and for years to come. It hasn't been easy, but then who said it was going to be?
And now I want to thank our leaders in chapters, regions and other sub-groups for their efforts in helping us deserve our members' faith in AITP.
Our first face-to-face EC meeting and board meeting comes on June 18-19 in Chicago. We arranged for those who have not been there to visit our headquarters in the Smith Bucklin facilities in downtown Chicago. Our board meetings are open to members who wish to observe how we get things done. This is an open invitation. Come if you can.
We are partnering with Comdex for our annual conference, board, executive committee and membership meetings. It will be in Las Vegas, with educational programs November 14-18, and Comdex exhibits November 15-17. Region 2 will have its meeting in conjunction, and Region 1 is considering this option as well. Please make plans to come. We will do a lot of work, get educated and have a lot of fun.
Aloha and God Bless!
