The AITP Lehigh Valley chapter hosted the 2012 AITP Technology Leaders Forum, an annual "CIO forum” to address key initiatives and challenges that could impact Information Technology in the region. This year, topics of discussion included attracting and retaining key employees, overseeing outsourced/cloud services, managing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and integrating social network services. The forum consisted of a panel of regional senior-level IT executives from various industries such as pharmaceuticals, finance/banking and manufacturing. The audience attended our meeting were professionals, students and faculty.
We sent out invitations and received 50 responses. However, at the meeting we ended up with 62 attendees with half comprised of students from the local colleges. As with our first CIO forum last year, this meeting was a great success. The success was due to the partnership with Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC.edu) and other local colleges, the commitment from our panel of experts, the dedication of student chapter advisers, and the participation from our board and members.
